Lessons Learned From 8 Hour Spotify Playlist

I listened to my 8-hour playlist and recommend this indulgence for solo car rides. I made a few blunders and triumphs that I’ll post in list format.

  1. I guess I never heard the original ‘Cocaine Blues’ by Johnny Cash. In my opinion, the live version from the Flosom Prison album is much better.
  2. Somehow, I picked an instrumental of ‘Ohio’ by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. One should listen to the version with lyrics on this one.
  3. I picked a different version of Biggie’s Party and Bull Shit. That was a disappointment.
  4. I picked ‘Our House’ by Crosby, Stills, and Nash when I meant to pick ‘Our House’ by Madness. Two completely different songs. I love Crosby, Stills, and Nash, but hate their song ‘Our House.’
  5. I selected the censored version of Next Episode by Dr Dre. It was funny to hear every other word bleeped out, but one should listen to the original.
  6. I chose a grunge cover of “The Sound of Silence when I wanted to listen to Paul Simon and the other guy’s version.
  7. In a moving vehicle, you don’t want to fuss with changing songs, so checking that you have the version you want is worth a few extra seconds to select. So I deleted the songs mentioned above, but made myself listen to them.
  8. I’ve included way more hip-hop on this playlist than usual, so if you take a listen, beware that there are plenty of profane ones, but it’s still suitable for driving.
  9. When my playlist ended, Spotify kept it going.
  10. This blog entry is my first post from my iPhone, and I can’t figure out how to stop the list feature, so this is The End. (How did I forget to put The Doors on this playlist!!!!!????)
