My first Entry!
After at least three defunct blogs, maybe it’s not a great idea to try again. There is so much going on right now, I imagine getting readers will be difficult. I did learn things from my previous websites, and I won’t start a commerce page anytime soon. And the goal will be to post once a week.
My reason for starting this website is my new fancy pen name, M.C. Allison. It’s simply my initials and last name, not to be mistaken with ‘master of ceremony.’ I have some good news: I have a manuscript that needs some revision, but not a complete rewrite. I had more positive feedback on this version than the earlier ones.
I sent the manuscript to one publisher and did not hear back, so I am going to assume they passed on it and start the revision. I’m leaning toward trying to get an agent or a publisher, but I may also consider self-publishing. Having an active website and more social media presence can’t hurt.
I titled this entry ‘bummer summer,’ because of what happened around a month ago. The summer was going great until I had to go to the emergency room on a Saturday. Without going into too much information, I’m fine now, but I need to drink Metamucil daily for a long time. And later this summer, I’ll get a colonoscopy. My favorite hobby is skateboarding, and I’m afraid to skate frequently because people fall all the time when skating. I don’t want to slam hard enough to give me trouble down there. I’m skating about once a week and cruising around, but it’s not the same as trying to progress.
My other complaints are that I’m having a hard time getting into an exercise routine, I got sunburned badly a few weeks ago, and I felt some anxiety at certain times. I think my mental health is good right now, but it could be better. I need to make sure that my 2016 psychotic episode was the last one I’ll have. To do this, I need to keep taking my meds, have good family and friend contacts, avoid partying, and not have insomnia.
Lastly, starting this blog or author website will be a good hobby to make writing a routine. Again, I’ll post once a week. Tuesday nights work. And things will get better.
